Access control installation in NYC

Bee Locksmith installs and services access control systems (card, fob and keypad entry) for buildings, offices and retail in New York City and the tri-state area. Our own low-voltage technicians wire the reader and power, and our locksmiths and door division install the strike, maglock or exit device, so the system and the door are one job.

What we install

  • Card, fob and keypad readers
  • Electric strikes, maglocks and electrified exit devices
  • Power supplies, request-to-exit and door contacts
  • Tie-ins to intercoms and door operators
  • Service and troubleshooting of existing systems

Why the door matters

Most access control problems are door problems: a strike that doesn't line up, a closer that doesn't pull the door shut, a maglock that lost alignment. Because we do the door and the low voltage, the system works on day one and keeps working.

Door position switches and power transfers

Access control needs to know whether the door is actually shut, not just locked. A door position switch (door contact) in the frame reports door-open, door-forced and door-held-open events, and can trigger a local alarm or camera. To get power and signal into an electrified lock or exit device on the door itself, we install a power transfer or electrified hinge in the hinge side of the frame, or a concealed door loop, so no wires are exposed across the gap. Our door division preps the frame and door; our low-voltage technicians wire and test it. See hollow metal frames, exit alarms and pharmacy and cash room doors.

Wireless locks, cameras and the network

For doors that can't be wired, see Mul-T-Lock SMARTair wireless access control. Tie door events to security cameras, and see network infrastructure for the cabling, PoE switches and Wi-Fi behind it.
