Structured cabling and network infrastructure for buildings
Cameras, IP intercoms and access control all depend on the network behind them. Bee Locksmith designs, installs and supports the cabling, racks, PoE switching and Wi-Fi for buildings and businesses in New York City and the tri-state area, so the systems we put on the door have a reliable network to run on.
What we design, install and support
Property and facilities managers: this work goes on your work order, with your NTE, alongside the doors, locks and security systems in the same building. See facilities & property management.
- Structured cabling: Cat6 and Cat6A runs, terminated, labeled and tested
- Fiber backbone between floors, closets or buildings where copper distance runs out
- Racks, patch panels, cable management and UPS in the IDF/MDF closet
- PoE switching sized for cameras, intercoms, readers and access points
- Wi-Fi for offices, amenity spaces, lobbies and back-of-house
- Separate networks (VLANs) for cameras, intercoms and access control

Built for building systems
A lobby IP intercom, a camera on the roof and an access control panel in the basement all need power, a path back to the closet, and a network the building can manage. We plan PoE budgets, cable distances and switch locations before we pull wire, and document the closet so the next service call is faster. Camera systems are on our security cameras page.
Ubiquiti UniFi and TP-Link Omada
We design, install and support Ubiquiti UniFi switching, Wi-Fi and gateways, and TP-Link Omada business switches, access points and controllers. Both are managed from a single controller, which makes multi-floor and multi-site networks easier to support. We pick the platform that fits the building, the budget and who will manage it.
See the official manufacturer catalogs on our product catalogs page.
Existing cabling and cleanup
Many buildings already have cable in the walls. We test existing runs, re-terminate or replace what fails, clean up closets, and label everything so it can be traced.
Frequently asked questions
Do you run Cat6 or Cat6A?
Both. Cat6 covers most camera, intercom and access control runs; Cat6A suits higher-speed links and longer-term upgrades. We recommend one in the estimate.
Do you install fiber?
Yes, as a backbone between floors, closets or buildings when copper distance or bandwidth isn't enough.
Which network brands do you use?
We design, install and support Ubiquiti UniFi and TP-Link Omada business networks, and work on existing networks from other brands.
Can cameras and intercoms share the building network?
Yes, on separate VLANs with enough PoE and bandwidth. We plan that in the design.
Do you support the network after install?
Yes. We support the networks we design and install, and document them for your IT contact.
