Commercial security camera installation in NYC

Bee Locksmith designs, installs and services security camera systems for apartment buildings, offices, retail stores and multi-site businesses across New York City and the tri-state area. We plan coverage, run the cabling, set up the NVR or video management software, recording retention and remote viewing, and tie the cameras into the access control and intercoms at the same doors. Cameras are installed by our own low-voltage technicians, who also service the doors, locks, access control and intercoms on the same opening.

What we do

Property and facilities managers: this work goes on your work order, with your NTE, alongside the doors, locks and security systems in the same building. See facilities & property management.

  • Camera coverage for lobbies, entrances, mailrooms, hallways, garages, back doors and roofs
  • IP cameras, NVRs and video management software set up for your retention needs
  • Remote viewing on phones and desktops for managers, supers and owners
  • Multi-site systems: one standard camera and recorder package per store
  • Service and replacement of failed cameras, recorders, hard drives and power
  • Migration of older analog and DVR systems to IP

Camera brands we install and service

Axis, Bosch (now IQSIGHT), InVid Tech and UniFi Protect for new work, plus service, upgrades and migrations for existing Hikvision systems. When a project needs NDAA-compliant equipment, we specify it from the start.

Buildings, retail and multi-site

Buildings: lobby, package room, elevator, garage and perimeter coverage, with clips available to the managing agent. Retail: registers, entrances, stockrooms and back doors, with views you can check from a phone. Multi-site: the same camera, recorder and retention settings at every location, so the office can pull footage the same way at each store. See multi-location businesses.

Recording, retention and remote viewing

We size the recorder storage to how many days you need to keep, at the resolution and frame rate the cameras record. We set user accounts by role, so a super can view live video while the managing agent can export clips. Remote viewing runs through the manufacturer's app or VMS, set up on your network with current firmware and changed default passwords.

Cameras with access control and intercoms

A camera at the door is more useful when it is tied to the door. We line up camera views with access control events and video intercoms, so a forced door or a held-open alarm can be checked on video. The cameras, the switches and the cabling run on the network infrastructure we design, install and support.

The doorDoor division: service, fabrication and install.
The lockLocksmiths: cylinders, keying and hardware.
The releaseLow voltage: strikes, maglocks, readers and intercoms.
The door, the lock, and the release are one job. We don't hand that off.

Frequently asked questions

Do you service existing camera systems?

Yes. We troubleshoot cameras, recorders, hard drives, power and cabling, and replace what has failed.

How many days of recording can we keep?

It depends on camera count, resolution and storage. We size the NVR for the retention you need and show the math in the estimate.

Can we view the cameras remotely?

Yes. We set up remote viewing on phones and computers with separate user accounts.

Do you install NDAA-compliant cameras?

Yes. When a project or funding source requires NDAA-compliant equipment, we specify it, for example Axis or InVid Tech NDAA lines.

Can cameras be tied into access control and the intercom?

Yes. We line up camera views with door events and video intercoms, and install the doors, locks and releases too.

Do you do alarm monitoring?

No. We install and service cameras, access control and intercoms; we don't provide central-station monitoring.
